Incentives

Incentives worth earning

Rewards that stay human. Private haciendas in the Coffee Region, boats to the Rosario Islands, dinners inside Cartagena's walled city — access most visitors never get, held to people rather than names or logos.

Access that is not negotiated, but cultivated.

Process

How a program gets built

  1. Brief

We start from your objective, not from our inventory. Audience, budget frame, dates, what the program has to achieve. We identify where we fit, and how.

  2. Design

Concept, route and creative direction built from a blank page. Costed line by line, so you can see what drives the number.

  3. Verification

Every venue is walked and every supplier contracted directly. Nothing enters a proposal on someone else's word.

  4. Operation

The people who designed it are on the ground. One run sheet, one point of contact, decisions made in the room rather than escalated.

  5. Close

Reconciliation, post-program report, and the honest version of what worked.

Proof

The record, in numbers and recognition.

Muisca community-partnership programming in La Boquilla and Cartagena

Legacy

Built in from the start, never added on.

Every Muisca program is designed so more of its value stays in the destination — through direct sourcing, named community partners, and cultural hosts woven into sourcing, gifting, hospitality and experience design.

In one Cartagena program, more than 150 local performers, makers and cultural hosts were part of a single evening. Surplus food is donated, single-use plastics are down 90% across operations, and supplier relationships keep value where it is made. Not a CSR chapter — part of how the work is built.

FAQ

Questions planners ask

Muisca is a boutique destination management company based in Colombia. We find the standard DMC definition too narrow: we work as a creative director, a Colombian curator, a production company and a logistics operator at once, in-house. Our core destinations are Bogotá, Cartagena, Medellín and the Coffee Region, and we operate throughout the country.

A DMC is the local partner that designs and runs a program on the ground — venue sourcing, supplier contracting, transport, production, staffing and on-site management. Most DMCs subcontract creative and production. Muisca keeps curation, creative direction and production in-house, with the same senior team from brief to reconciliation.

Yes, with normal corporate planning. Bogotá, Cartagena, Medellín and the Coffee Region host international congresses and incentive programs year-round, and the global hotel groups operating there — Four Seasons, Sofitel, Hyatt, W — apply the same security standards they apply everywhere. Muisca provides duty-of-care protocols, vetted transport, 24-hour on-site contact and an emergency plan for every program.

Colombia safety, guest movement, and risk management

Each destination answers a different objective. Cartagena suits incentives and conventions, from small groups to roughly 3,000 delegates across multiple properties. Bogotá handles the largest congresses and conventions, with the deepest hotel inventory and the best international airlift. Medellín balances a corporate setting with strong gastronomy and cultural programming. The Coffee Region suits immersive programs where access and connection matter more than a meeting room.

Which Colombia city fits your brief?

Eight months minimum for most programs, twelve or more for peak season. Cartagena books furthest ahead, and the best venues, hotels and private access go early. The Coffee Region has limited high-end inventory, so lead time matters as much there as in a high-demand city. Shorter timelines are possible — they narrow the options, not the quality.

Cost is driven by destination, hotel category, group size, program length and production complexity. As a planning baseline, a well-run corporate program in Colombia works out at roughly USD 700–1,000 per person, per day, excluding international flights, arrival and departure transfers, and DMC fees.

The daily base
LinePer person, per day
Accommodation — shared room, per personfrom USD 150
Accommodation — single room, strong four- or five-starUSD 300
Accommodation — top-tier propertiesup to USD 900
Lunch and dinner at restaurants (three courses, two drinks)USD 200
Experiences — including ground transport, guides and on-site staffingUSD 200–250
Program add-ons
LineCost
Gifting — locally sourced, with documented provenancefrom USD 30 per person; open at the upper end
Plenary and general session productionfrom USD 100 per person, per day; rises with staging, AV, speakers and content
Gala dinner at a non-conventional venueUSD 450–900 per person, including venue rental, catering, entertainment, décor and logistics

What moves the number: destination — Cartagena carries the highest ground costs in Colombia, driven by demand and island logistics, while the Coffee Region costs less on accommodation and more on transport — plus season, group size, and how much of the program is production rather than experience.

These are planning ranges, not quotations, and do not constitute a commitment on any service. Every Muisca program is costed line by line against the actual brief, so you see what drives the number before you approve it.

Indicative ranges, updated September 2026.

Colombia incentive budget and briefing guide

Plan on USD 700–1,000 per person, per day for a well-run program, split approximately like this: around USD 300 per person, per day for a strong four- or five-star single room, USD 200 per person, per day for lunch and dinner at restaurants, and USD 200–250 per person, per day for high-quality experiences, which includes ground transport, guides and on-site staffing. Shared accommodation brings the base down from USD 150 per person, per day. Top properties push rooms alone to USD 900 per person, per day. Flights and DMC fees sit outside this.
